Three people have been arrested for allegedly manufacturing methamphetamine in the city of Dunkirk.
On Monday, at about 11:45 p.m., the City of Dunkirk Police Department received information that Jeremiah Haas, 39, of Dunkirk, who had an outstanding warrant from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, was at 27 Leming St. in the City. Officers responded to that location and located Haas and Torry R. Kenny, 23, of Westfield in a bedroom belonging to Lydia Franklin, 18, of Dunkirk.
While officers were on scene they allegedly observed evidence of narcotic activity and subsequently obtained a search warrant from Judge Walter Drag. As a result of the search warrant, officers said they located a quantity of methamphetamine and materials for the manufacture of methamphetamine.
A 10-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy were present in the home at the time.
Haaz, Franklin and Kenny were all charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine (class D felony), and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Dunkirk Police Department was assisted by the Dunkirk Fire, Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, and HAZMAT. Further charges are pending and crews were on location Tuesday morning for cleanup of toxic materials and evidence gathering.
