Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care welcomes new staff

Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care is pleased to announce the recent addition of two new hospice team members. Johnna Grice, RN has joined as a nurse case manager and Shelby Hester has been hired as a Music Therapist.

Grice is a 1998 graduate of Jamestown High School and 2010 graduate of JCC’s nursing program. Following her JCC training, Grice worked in various health care settings in Rochester, Michigan and Jamestown including residential and long-term care environments. Most recently she worked caring for the intellectually and developmentally disabled at the Resource Center.

Hester is a 2015 graduate of Western Michigan University where she received her bachelor’s degree in music therapy. Before coming to CHPC she worked for Blue Ridge Hospice in Virginia as an intern. A native of Muskegon, Mich., Hester is a board certified music therapist and relocated to Chautauqua County in March with her husband, Eric.

“Johnna and Shelby have excellent education and experience and will be strong additions to our hospice team,” said Tom Summerville, vice president of Clinical Services. “I’m confident they will uphold the high quality standards we set for the care of our patients and families.”

The mission of Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care is to provide end of life education and care in Chautauqua County. CHPC provides hospice care for patients and families facing life-limiting terminal illness, palliative care for those with serious chronic illness, and bereavement support to individuals, families and organizations who have suffered the loss of a loved one.
