Evans Police Department

¯ On July 31 at around 5:25 p.m., patrol allegedly observed a vehicle speeding on South Creek Road. A stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Michael B. Manges, 23, of Evans. A license check revealed that Manges’ license was suspended for failure to answer a summons out of the North Collins Town Court. He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speed in zone. He was released and is due back in Evans Town Court on Aug. 7.

¯ On July 31 at around 8:10 p.m., a complaint was received for alleged disorderly persons on Pleasant Avenue in Angola. Officers later located both offenders on North Main Street in Evans. During questioning one offender, identified as Christopher D. Liberatore, 19, of Evans purportedly was belligerent with police in the presence of bystanders. The other offender identified as Benjamin X. Spratz, 19, of Angola was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct while Liberatore was charged with disorderly conduct. They were released on appearance tickets.

¯ On Saturday at around 3:40 a.m., Raymond W. Silverheels, 31, of Angola was located by police walking on Eisenhower Avenue. A check showed an active warrant out of Gowanda Police Department and the Town of Collins Court. Silverheels was advised to attent court this Wednesday.

¯ On Sunday at about 4:40 a.m., patrol observed a vehicle traveling on Eden Evans Center Road that reportedly failed to signal a lane change. During the traffic stop, the driver, identified as Anthony Rydzewski, 35, of Evans was found to be possession of a license that had been suspended a total of 10 times. He was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operation of a motor vehicle by an unlicensed driver, movement from lane unsafely and illegal signal from a parked position. He was released and is due to appear in Evans Town Court on Aug. 28.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

¯ On Thursday at approximately 7:20 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance in the town of Dunkirk. The city of Dunkirk police located Brandon M. Tate, 20, of Dunkirk on Route 5. During the investigation, it was discovered that Tate allegedly threatened the victim with physical injury and was operating a motor vehicle when his driving privileges were suspended.

Tate was arrested for second-degree harassment, third degree menacing and third degree aggravated unlicensed operator. Tate was arraigned by the town of Dunkirk court and released to the supervision of probation. Tate was additionally issued a traffic ticket for aggravated unlawful operator in the third degree and is to appear at the city of Dunkirk court at a later date.

¯ BEMUS POINT — On July 29, deputies were called to a location in the town of Ellery for report of larceny. Upon further investigation, deputies found that Amy M. Swanson, 45, of Maple Springs, took multiple items, including several credit cards, from another person without permission.

An arrest warrant was issued out of the town of Ellery Court on Sunday for fourth degree grand larceny, fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property, petit larceny and fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property. Swanson was taken into custody and transported to the town of Ellery Court for arraignment where she was released on her own recognizance. Swanson will appear in Ellery Court at a later date.
