JAMESTOWN — A fire at 429 Allen St. has resulted in a house being demolished Monday morning.
The call came in shortly before 2 a.m. at 429 Allen St., Jamestown, for a fully-involved three-story property, according to Media One Group. Andrew Finson, city battalion chief, said there was too much fire for an interior attack and firefighters instead controlled the fire from outside with two blitz fire monitors and a water tower to extinguish the fire.
An emergency demolition was ordered. Firefighters were on the scene until 7 a.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.
