Vehicles in the Dodge City lot were damaged on Thursday afternoon.

WESTFIELD -- Five cars at a local dealership were damaged after an accident involving a woman who was allegedly driving while intoxicated.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies and Westfield police responded to 7524 Route 20, Dodge City, in the town for an accident with personal injury around 6 p.m. Thursday. Following an investigation conducted by the sheriff’s office, it was found that that Muchell A. Switzer, 46, of Westfield, was intoxicated while operating a motor vehicle.

Switzer failed to yield the right of way to a tractor trailer. The tractor trailer struck Switzer’s vehicle, which then crashed into at least five parked cars at the Dodge City dealership.

Due to the accident Route 20 was closed for a short period of time at McKinley Road. Switzer was taken to Westfield Memorial Hospital for apparent minor injuries. He was later arrested and released with appearance tickets for DWI and failure to yield right of way.

Switzer is to be in town of Westfield Court later.
