Collins Library monthly events for May set

The Collins Public Library, located at 2341 Main St., has announced its May schedule of programs. When registration is needed, stop by or call 532-5129.

Lap Sit with Miss Abbie: Mondays: May 6, 13 and 20 at 10:30 a.m. Join in for this fun program for children ages 6 months to 2 years with a caregiver. A great introduction to early literacy skills with rhymes, finger plays, music, stories and more. Sign up required.

Star Wars Story Hour: Thursday, May 2 at 6 p.m. Join us ... in a galaxy far, far away ... to build your own droids, pin the light-saber on Yoda, listen to star wars tales and battle it out in more Jedi games! Registration requested, ages 3 to 10.

Senior Movie: Friday, May 3 at 1 p.m. Join us for a movie and popcorn. Co-sponsored by the 50+ seniors. Call the Library for the title of the movie.

Create Your Own Book: Saturday, May 4 at 1:30 p.m. Come and learn how to create easy, origami folded books to fill with your own creations. This will be a fun and open activity where your creativity rules. Recommended ages 8 to 12. Registration required.

Celebrate Mothers!: Tuesday, May 7 at 5:30 p.m. Open to children 3 to 10 with their mother, grandmother, or caregiver. The children will make a special craft and card, children and guests will make a yogurt parfait to enjoy as we read books all about the joys of being a mother. Registration is required by Tuesday, April 30.

Toddler Time: The next three week session of Toddler Time begins Friday, May 10 at 10:30 a.m. Read stories, play games, sing songs and have a snack. Ages 2 to 5. Call or stop in to register!

Craft Club: Monday, May 13 at 6 p.m. Come and make crafts in the Library. Ages 4 to 12. Registration is required.

Evening Book Club: Tuesday, May 14 at 5:30 p.m. Discuss "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" by Mary Ann Shaffer. Request a copy on line or stop by the Library Desk. Call 532-5129 or stop by if interested.

Computer Class-Family History: Thursday, May 16 at 5:30 p.m. An introduction to tracing your family's roots with Ancestry Library Edition. Free and open to Library patrons ages 17 and above. Registration required.

Music in the Library Concert Series: Join us Friday, May 17 at 7 p.m. for a free concert by Mark Munzert, an award-winning cowboy poet spinning tales of the west. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Morning Book Club: Monday, May 20 at 11 a.m. Discuss "Miss Kopp's Midnight Confessions" by Amy Stewart. Request a copy online or at the Library Desk.

LEGO Club: Tuesday, May 21 at 6:30 p.m. Come and play with LEGOs in the Library. We will put your creation on display in the Library. Ages 4 to 12. Registration required, call or stop in.

Creative Crafts for Adults: Saturday, May 25 at 1 p.m. Make a "Tea for Two" paper craft. All materials are provided, but registration is limited. Ages 18+.

Closed: The Library will be closed on Monday, May 27 for Memorial Day and will re-open on Tuesday, May 28 at 10 a.m. Use the "Book" drop or renew online at www.Buffalolib.org.

Young Adult Book Club: Thursday, May 30 at 6:30 p.m. Discuss "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" by C.S. Lewis. Request a copy online or at the Library Desk.
