MAYVILLE -- Despite their five pins, the Fredonia Hillbillies were edged by Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Panama, 46-39, Thursday in CCAA high school wrestling.
CLWP’s opened the meet with a 17-second pin over Alex Christy at 182-pounds. At 220, teammate Ben Szymanowski stopped Yaniel Acevedo at 1:33.
At 138, CLWP’s Derek Ecklund pinned Jun Kim at 1:31 while Tommie Adolph won his 170-pound match over Jonny Skrok in 1:40.
Fredonia’s Jordan Stebbins picked up a 48-second pin over Nate Wilson at 195 while Jamison Horch picked up six points with a pin over Kendall Carlson in 3:53 in the heavyweight division.
Also for the Hillbillies, Hector Colom picked up a 15-0 technical fall victory over Jim Wolfe while eighth-grader Ceric Kristan pinned Noah Dorman at the 2:30 mark of their 152-pound bout.
