Host Chautauqua Lake wins Ripley Invitational

RIPLEY -- Chautauqua Lake won the 24th annual Ripley Invitational wrestling tournament on Saturday, as it earned three first-place, four second-place, two third-place and one fourth-place finish en route 244 points.

Finishing first for the Thunderbirds were Austin Burgeois (120 pounds), Bryce Rowe (145) and Ben Symanowski (220) while Armando Arce (170), Derek Ecklund (132), Brendon Ramsey (106) and Hunter Harris (99) all finished second.

Finishing behind host Chautauqua Lake in the team standings were Fredonia (175.5), Randolph (174), Orchard Park (165.5), Canisius (148.5), Dunkirk (124), Southwestern (101.5), Cattaraugus-Little Valley (81.5), East (75.5), Iroquois (50), Strong Vincent (40, Ashtabula Edgewood (40), Falconer (30) and Frewsburg (12).

Taking first place for Fredonia were Dalton Gardner (113), Giovani Russo (126) and Hector Colom (132) while Dunkirk received first-place finishes from Billy Seiders (138), Alton Ingram (170) and Nick Jones (285).
