Gowanda picks up its first league win over Dunkirk

The Gowanda Panthers sneaked out a 45-34 victory over the Dunkirk Marauders in CCAA high school wrestling action Wednesday.
The Panthers were the benefactors of four pins, started off by Maddox Browning in the 99-pound division.
Meanwhile, at 132, Kiefer Austin scored a pin. Also earning six points for Gowanda were Dom Rodriguez (160) and Ryan Gernatt (170).
Bradley Jones was a standout performer for the Marauders as he won via pin.

MAYVILLE -- The Olean Huskies wrestling team defeated Chautauqua Lake-Westfield-Panama, 51-33 on Wednesday at Chautauqua Lake.
Nate Gabler of Olean pinned Trent Burchanowski 41 seconds into their match at 106 pounds, while Nick Bierfeldt (120 pounds) and Icar Simon (152 pounds) also earned pins for Olean. Simons' pin over Noah Dorman was at only 24 seconds, while Bierfeldt got the job done in just shy of three minutes. Jeremiah Crivelli of Olean earned a 5-0 decision over Trey Hoyt, while Olean also earned five wins via forfeit.
Chautauqua Lake-Westfield-Panama earned pinfall victories by Hunter Harris (99 pounds), Austin Bourgeois (126 pounds), Brendan Ramsey (132 pounds), Bryce Rowe (160 pounds) and Ben Szymanowski (285 pounds). Derek Ecklund won by an 8-6 decision over Gavin Kulp at 138 pounds.

FREDONIA 17
The Falconer-Cassadaga Valley high school wrestling team defeated Fredonia, 63-17, Wednesday.
Despite majority decision wins by Dalton Gardner at 132 pounds (13-2) and Hector Colom at 138 pounds (11-2), Fredonia only managed two more victories on the night. Brandon Wallace of Fredonia defeated Tony Fiasco by an 8-6 decision at 126 pounds, while Yaniel Acevedo scored the Hillbillies' only pin of the night, 56 seconds into the match at 285 against Chase Johnson.
Falconer-Cassadaga Valley controlled the rest of the night, scoring eight victories by pinfall. Hunter Teboe added an 11-4 decision over Fredonia's Antonio Pagan at 120 pounds. Falconer-Cassadaga Valley added two more victories by forfeit.
Brayden Newman (99 pounds), Brodie Little (106 pounds), Trenton Colburn (113 pounds), Dan Torres (160 pounds), Jordan Dustin (170 pounds), Robbie Penhollow (182 pounds), Dillon Hokanson (195 pounds) and Corey Keefe (220 pounds) were the pinfall winners for Falconer-Cassadaga Valley.
