Four Hillbillies, three Thunderbirds win at annual Ripley Duals tourney

RIPLEY -- The Fredonia Hillbillies wrestling team had four winners and swept the competition as a team with 236 points to dominate the annual Ripley Duals on Saturday at Ripley High School.
Dalton Gardner (138), Giovanni Russo (145), Cole Golembieski (152) and Ceric Kristan (170) all earned first place finishes for the Hillbillies.
At 220, Jake Skinner lost a tough matchup 1-0, and Yanny Acevedo was pinned at 285, giving both of them second place finishes. Lucas Hoffman and Brandon Wallace also grabbed second place finishes.
For Chautauqua Lake, Trent Burchanowski (106), Brendon Rowe (126) and Austin Bourgeois (132) picked up first place finishes as well.
Fredonia (13-4, 3-0) will return to action on Wednesday against Olean at home.
