With the celebration of our nation’s independence once again just behind us, we surely heard our share of patriotic music that we learned as children. We can all sing from memory the first verse of the patriotic hymn, “My Country ‘Tis of Thee.” But can anyone sing or recite the fourth verse of this song? 2018 Catholic Charities appeal reaches $11 million goal

BUFFALO, N.Y., June 26, 2018 – Nearly six months of fundraising efforts by hundreds of volunteers throughout the Diocese of Buffalo and a late rally by the Western New York community have helped the 2018 Appeal for Catholic Charities surpass its $11 million goal. At a morning news conference today, The Most Reverend Richard J. St. Anthony’s holds graduation Mass, awards scholarships

On Sunday, June 24, the Graduation Mass was held at St. Anthony’s Church in Fredonia. The Erica O’Donoughue and Rev. Daniel P Walsh Scholarship was awarded at the 9:30 a.m. Mass. Due to the quality and sincerity of the essays, two recipients shared the award. The recipients of the scholarship are Lydia Lanski and Catherine Roth of Fredonia. Lydia is a graduate of Fredonia Central School. Catherine is a graduate of Mount Mercy Academy.
