Man charged after violating stay-away order

A man was charged with second-degree criminal contempt after a reported trespass on Main Street at East Fourth in the city. At 3:19 p.m. Wednesday, Dunkirk Police responded to a reported incident. The caller reported Thomas Majkowski, 49, was violating a valid stay away order of protection by coming into the caller's workplace. Majkowski was located a short time later across the street. He was taken into custody, processed, issued an appearance ticket and turned over to the New York State Police on an outstanding warrant.

Three Dunkirk residents with a history of trouble with law enforcement were in trouble again last week. At approximately 4:07 p.m. May 16, a Dunkirk Police Officer observed a subject walking in the area of Lake Shore Drive East and Deer Street who was known to have several active warrants. The subject, Casey P. Crane, 32, of Dunkirk, had confirmed warrants with Fredonia Police, Amherst Police and Cheektowaga Police. A pair of city residents are facing shoplifting charges. On Monday at 4:16 p.m., Dunkirk Police officers responded to Dollar Tree at 327 Main St. for a shoplifting that had occurred. After an investigation it was discovered Kevin Y. Dejesus-Rivera, 33, of 135 Hoyt St. and Christina A. Marrero, 36, of 6 W. Courtney St., stole property from the store. On Tuesday, both were located and issued appearance tickets for petit larceny. They are due in court on June 2.
