Missing adult located by K-9 Unit

A K-9 with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office located a missing older adult. At around 1:45 p.m. Friday deputies were dispatched to Osborne Road in the town of Pomfret. It was reported that a elderly vulnerable adult had walked into a wooded area and was now missing. A Chautauqua County Sheriff's K-9 Unit deployed K-9 Drake into the wooded area on a free air sniff track in an attempt to locate the missing subject. K-9 Drake successfully located the missing subject in the wooded area. The subject was not injured and was assisted back to safety by deputies.

Fredonia OKs budget, 65% tax hike

Forestville resident accused of stealing $50k

A Forestville resident has been arrested for allegedly stealing tens of thousands of dollars. According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, in September its Criminal Investigation Division received a referral from another county agency. The investigation allegedly showed that between April 2023 and August 2024 45-year-old Meaghan N. Cappa stole in excess of $50,000 from an individual. Forestville man hospitalized in ATV crash

SHERIDAN – A Forestville resident has been hospitalized following a serious accident involving a recreational vehicle Wednesday night. According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, around 6:50 p.m. deputies were dispatched to an All Terrain Vehicle rollover accident on Center Road in the town of Sheridan. A 66-year-old male sustained serious physical injuries from the accident. Sheridan and Forestville fire departments, alongside County EMS, ALSTAR EMS, and Stat Medivac were able to respond and transport the victim to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo.
