Hanover moves on dredging, street drainage

HANOVER — The Town of Hanover has taken its next step toward dredging Hanover Harbor and Cattaraugus Creek. The Town Board accepted the bid from Littoral Services LLC for sediment sampling and analysis, as well as preparing, coordinating, submitting and obtaining all necessary permits to complete the dredging project. The total cost of the work will range between $39,056 and $49,481. All necessary permits must be obtained by Feb. 1, 2027. VFW Post 8647 hosts golf tournament to benefit Mayville Food Pantry

Lake Chautauqua Memorial VFW Post 8647 sponsored its annual golf tournament to benefit the Mayville Food Pantry recently. The tournament began 27 years ago when former post commander Donald Skellie and his wife, Bonnie, organized the first golf event. Skellie passed away several years ago but the event continues to be held each year. VFW Auxiliary members Doug Johnson and Shannon Larson were co-chairs.
