Sons of Legion donate to Historical Society

SINCLAIRVILLE — Members and guests gathered recently for the annual summer picnic in the Sinclairville Ballpark. President Sheryl Christy welcomed all to the gathering. A variety of picnic food was brought by the members to share. Everyone enjoyed a good meal. The blessing prior to the meal was given by Tyler Worden, and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by treasurer John Sipos. The minutes of the previous meeting were given by secretary Evelyn Thorndike, and the financial report given by treasurer Sipos. Deadline for relief on farm tariffs nears

State Gov. Kathy Hochul is reminding New York producers that the deadline to apply for the $30 million Agricultural Resiliency Against Tariffs Program is approaching with applications due on Tuesday by 11:59 p.m. The program, first announced in Hochul’s 2026 State of the State address, will help offset rising costs and market loss that New York farmers faced in 2025 because of federal tariff policy. The Lake Erie Regional Grape Program wants to remind you to be extra cautious on the roads so that everyone can make it to their destination safely. Westfield Stray Cat Rescue seeks volunteers

When New York state changed the regulations regarding animal shelters at the end of 2025, the Westfield Stray Cat Rescue had to relocate from their facility above their Thrifty Kitty Thrift Shop at 59 E. Main St. in Westfield so they could meet the new guidelines. They relocated to the space formerly used as the Westfield Veterinary Clinic at 8494 W. Route 20. The facility is larger than the previous one, and the shelter is consequently in immediate need of more volunteers to help care for the cats and kittens.
