Court rules against Westfield in records case

A court has ordered the village of Westfield to pay legal fees to a man in a Freedom of Information Law case. State Supreme Court Justice Grace Hanlon also ordered Westfield to produce the records sought by Robert Neratko. According to Hanlon’s decision, Neratko made his original FOIL records request in February 2025. FALCONER - Although progress has been made, safety and compliance problems concerning the homeless population are surfacing again. In October 2025, officials aired concerns for student safety due to the Quality Inn’s proximity to the Harvey C. Fenner Elementary School. City parking changes start this weekend

With the following changes, spring and summer parking regulations will take effect for alternate and overnight parking this weekend. Regulations regarding overnight parking on main streets, including Central Avenue, Lake Shore Drive, Brigham Road, Doughty Street, Main Street, and numerous smaller side streets, will conclude on Sunday and will not resume until Sunday, Nov. 1.
