Heat wave puts state under Energy Watch

Unrelenting heat is again affecting the New York state grid. On Thursday afternoon, the New York Independent System Operator issued an Energy Watch due to a decline in operating reserves. The grid is operating normally at this time and there are adequate resources to meet forecasted demand. An Energy Watch is when operating reserves are expected to be lower than 2,620 MW for longer than 60 minutes. Fredonia eyes easing use of electronic signs

The village of Fredonia government is eying a new law to make it easier for businesses to use electronic signs. A public hearing on the proposed law is scheduled before the trustees’ next meeting Monday. WACS gets update on project timeline

Westfield Academy and Central School Board of Education members learned about the progress and timeline for the work on the Capital Improvement Project at their meeting earlier this month. WACS Superintendent Ryan Sikorski told board members the foundation for the new concession stand has been poured and the new scoreboard has been delivered.
