Editor, OBSERVER The OBSERVER has published many articles about The Wretched Group over the years. As the founding member of the band, I would like to submit the following flashback from my own knowledge and belief to begin to straighten the record. I was the founding member of The Wretched Group, serving as lead guitar and vocals starting in 1964, when the band was initially known simply as The Group. The Fourteenth Amendment is back before the U.S. Supreme Court in a way that presents an issue of extraordinary importance. Yet what’s before the court in Trump v. Barbara isn’t one of the clauses that is often before the court. Revitalize Dunkirk has made a call to the community. Help the group of volunteers in a spring cleaning mission that is slated for Tuesday with a rain date of Thursday. Held in conjunction with National Fuel’s “Days of Doing,” in which employees are given release time to engage in community projects, the event is from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. To its credit, these individuals are committed to promoting and bettering the city. Is it finally Spring? I think Mother Nature might have made up her mind. She has been sort of a brat about it: “Oh let’s give them a nice day that soars above 78 degrees but plunges them down to 19 overnight. And tomorrow, bright sunshine but keep it at a high of 36. That should keep them guessing.” We’ve been guessing alright. I don’t know whether to leave the house in a black down winter jacket, a cardigan sweater or a striped summer tee top.
