WACS Middle School names Students of the Month
Lauren Bills
WESTFIELD — On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria:
1. Follows Westfield’s Rules of Respect for staff and peers
2. Shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects
3. Prepared daily to participate in all classes
4. Serves as a positive role model for peers
5. Demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship
Three students were selected as a Student of the Month for the month of September.
At the sixth grade level, Mihir Patel was selected as Student of the Month. Mihir’s favorite subject is math because he likes working with numbers. He also enjoys the projects the class works on in technology. Mihir loves watching and playing soccer and his favorite pro team is FC Barcelona. Someday, Mihir hopes to attend college and graduate school to become an engineer.
In seventh grade, Thayne Bodenmiller is the September Student of the Month. He also enjoys math the most, and finds that it comes easily to him. He loves sports and also enjoys gym class. Thayne plays year-round soccer. In the future, he hopes to become a successful accountant and start a family.
Lauren Bills is the eighth grade September Student of the Month. Lauren’s favorite classes are math and band. She enjoys the challenges of math class and she loves playing the flute in band. As a hobby, Lauren dances, and enjoys tap and jazz. She also plans on going out for the basketball and track teams at school this year. When she is older, she hopes to attend Niagara University to become a pediatric nurse, and her dream is to work at the John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo.
