WACS names its middle school Students of the Month for March

Tanleigh Bestine

WESTFIELD — On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria:

1. Follows Westfield’s Rules of Respect for staff and peers.

2. Shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects.

3. Prepared daily to participate in all classes.

4. Serves as a positive role model for peers.

5. Demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship.

Three students were selected as a Student of the Month for the month of March.

In 6th grade, Tanleigh Bestine was selected as Student of the Month. In school, Tanleigh enjoys physical education the most because she likes sports and staying physically active. Outside of school, Tanleigh plays softball. In the future her goals include attending college and pursuing a career as a veterinarian.

The 7th grade Student of the Month is Martin Ohlsson. The subject that Martin most enjoys in school is math, and he thinks he will be utilizing math skills throughout life. Martin spends time outside of school hanging out with friends, and one day, he hopes to become a neurosurgeon.

Laura Quisenberry (not pictured) is Westfield’s 8th grade Student of the Month. Laura really likes all of her school subjects, except physical education. She does not consider herself to be athletic, and when she is not in school, she enjoys reading or playing the flute. Laura hopes to attend college after completing high school, although she is unsure of what she will major in.

Starting at $4.00/week.
