Kaelyn Hayward of Cassadaga was recently awarded the Department of New York, 2015-2016 Children and Youth, Evelyn Sheldon Award. “Youth Reaches Out” is awarded to a youth in recognition of service to the community or fellow man. Kaelyn has been a member of the Cassadaga American Legion Junior Auxiliary for 13 years. She believes in the importance of helping our veterans, her community, children and youth and the American Legion. Kaelyn has worked on many projects, raising money and goods for the welfare of these programs. Kaelyn is the daughter of Mike Hayward of Cassadaga and Nichole Olmstead of Sinclairville. Her grandparents are Pat and Jim Hayward of Cassadaga, Brenda Olmstead of Silver Creek and Tim and Valerie Olmstead of Sinclairville.
