Siblings graduate from Morrisville State College together
Growing up on a family dairy farm, Leila (20) and Avery (22) Richmond made their share of memories. On Saturday, they added one more–they graduated from Morrisville State College together. Leila received an associate degree in animal science – dairy, and Avery, a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business development.
Avery currently works as a herdsman on a dairy farm in Cassadaga. He plans to continue working in the dairy industry in the business spectrum. “You can learn cows after school, but you can’t learn business,” he said.
Leila, of North Collins, plans to work on the family’s seventh-generation farm, Richmond Farms Dairy, LLC, and eventually own a farm where she would like to process milk and yogurt.
Avery’s best experience at Morrisville: “All of the people along the way.”
Leila’s most memorable experience at Morrisville: “The professors.”
Their sister, Magdalene, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business development from Morrisville, in 2014.
