Forestville announces school valedictorians
Caroline Kaicher
Caroline Mary Kaicher, daughter of Cathy Kaicher and the late Jim Kaicher, has been named the valedictorian of the 2018 senior class at Forestville Central School. She has earned an overall grade point average of 104.04 over the past four years.
Since seventh grade, Caroline has served as class president and has participated in Student Council. She has been a member of the varsity softball team, of which she is co-captain, for the last four years, and completed her last season of varsity volleyball last fall. Caroline has also been a member of concert band since fourth grade. She is the president of National Honor Society and serves as secretary for Spanish Honor Society. She has also been named a National Merit Scholarship award winner for 2018.
This fall Caroline will be attending Colgate University, where she has been accepted into the Alumni Memorial Scholars program. She plans to study neuroscience.
Kira Jael Johnson, daughter of Charles and Kammie Johnson, has been named the salutatorian of the 2018 senior class at Forestville Central School. Throughout her high school career, Kira has maintained her place on the High Honor Roll and has earned an overall weighted grade point average of 102.904
In addition to Kira’s academic achievements, she also participates in many extracurricular activities. She has played clarinet in Forestville’s concert band since the fourth grade and been a member of the pit band in five of Forestville’s musicals including Brigadoon, South Pacific, Into the Woods, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Beauty and the Beast. She has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years, a member of the Spanish National Honor Society for three years, a member of Spanish Club since her junior year, and a member of drama club her senior year.
This fall Kira plans on taking online college courses through Jamestown Community College and majoring in information technology.
