Silver Creek Teacher’s Association selects scholarship winner based on stellar essay
Emily Pryll
SILVER CREEK – Emma Pryll, a senior at Silver Creek High School, has been awarded the 2018 Silver Creek Teacher’s Association senior essay scholarship.
Members of the Class of 2018 were asked to write how their school experiences influenced their future. Emma’s outstanding essay on kindness, acceptance, and respect won the hearts of the evaluation team.
In the essay, Emma wrote: “My first lessons in kindness came about as I was in elementary school. Influences from teachers and our close-knit community showed me how kindness and service can truly change a person’s life.” You can read Emma’s essay in its entirety on the district website at silvercreekschools.org.
Emma plans to attend The State University of New York at Fredonia in the fall and major in biology. She wants to eventually work her way into the healthcare field to become an OBGYN specialist. Emma is the daughter Herman Pryll and Karen McBride.
