…Jacob Lesch of Fredonia was awarded a Sunrise Cooperative Stockholder Scholarship. Jacob is currently attending the Ohio State University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Ag Systems Management. Jacob receives his eligibility from Heather Lesch (mother). This year Sunrise offered 40 $1,000 scholarships for common stockholder’s children and grandchildren and 10 $1,000 scholarships for employees children and grandchildren. A total of 282 students entered to compete for the 40 common stockholder scholarships, while 20 competed for the 10 employee scholarships. All students awarded are or will be enrolled in a two or four-year college program. Over the past 10 years, Sunrise has awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships and is excited to continue the program this year…

… A daughter, Lauren Mae, was born on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo to Craig and Janelle (Szwejbka) Young of Tonawanda (formerly of Dunkirk). Her grandparents are Mari Ellen “Ginger” and James Szwejbka, Jr. and Karen and Peter Young. Great-grandmother is Audrey I. Szwejbka of Dunkirk…
