On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria:

1. Follows Westfield’s Rules of Respect for staff and peers

2. Shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects

3. Prepared daily to participate in all classes

4. Serves as a positive role model for peers

5. Demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship

Three students were selected as a Student of the Month for the month of October:

In 6th grade, Mason Baum was selected as Student of the Month. Mason’s favorite subject in school is Physical Education, because he likes to be healthy and it’s fun! He enjoys fishing, and playing sports. In the future, Mason might become a Major League player, or an artist, or a professional fisherman.

For 7th grade, Cameron Corbett was chosen. Cameron likes ELA and Phys Ed the most in school. He plays football, and in the future, Cameron may become a small engine mechanic in the military, or play in the NFL. He would like to start a family when he is 27 years old.

Connor Graham was the 8th grade Student of the Month for September. Connor’s favorite class is math, because he’s pretty good at it. He likes to hang out with his friends and watch football, and in the future, Connor would like to graduate in the top 10 in his class, go to college, and become a welder or a mechanic.
