Dunkirk/Fredonia Rotary announces Student of the Month for November

Maggie Mignoli.

Maggie Mignoli is a senior at Fredonia High School. She lives with her parents, Steve and Kelly Mignoli, and her two siblings, Steven and Isabella Mignoli.

Maggie has attended Fredonia her entire academic career, beginning in preschool up through her senior year. In her time at the high school, Maggie has taken five AP classes and three JCC classes and is currently ranked second in her class.

Maggie has played the same three sports since seventh grade: volleyball, wrestling, and softball. She has been a member of the varsity volleyball team since her junior year and a member of the varsity wrestling and varsity softball teams since her sophomore year. In her junior year, Maggie received League Honorable Mention for softball and the CCAA Sportsmanship Award for volleyball.

As far as her musical background, Maggie has played percussion since fifth grade. She has been a member of the high school symphonic band since freshman year. In her sophomore year, Maggie was selected for the All County Percussion Ensemble. Maggie has also played percussion in the pit orchestra for the high school musicals for the past two years and she plans to do the same for the upcoming production.

At school, Maggie is a member of the National Honor Society and the Art National Honor Society, and she has served on the Student Council as a class representative since her freshman year. Through these clubs, Maggie is able to volunteer in the community across a variety of events offered, including Santa's Workshop and town cleanups.

In regards to her future plans, Maggie is unsure of which college she will be attending, but she hopes to study genetics and neuroscience.
