Ms. Rea is part of what makes Fredonia great for their students

Educator spotlight

Pictured above is Ms. Rea helping students during a class at Fredonia Elementary.

At Fredonia Elementary School, the students love that they have physical education class every single day. Part of the reason for their excitement about PE is the teachers. The students are treated to creative lessons, indoors and outdoors, taught by teachers who take the time to get to know each student and connect with them individually. Ms. Tamara Rea is one of the Fredonia Elementary School Physical Education teachers and she begins each day outside in the rain, snow, sleet, or sunshine, greeting students as they enter school. She knows each child by name, and just intuitively connects with those students who truly need a warm, genuine greeting from an adult as they start their day.

Ms. Rea has been a teacher at Fredonia Central Schools for the last 29 years, working with our youngest students in the physical education setting. Ms. Rea also leads the elementary PE department with the health curriculum, and developing creative lesson plans that encompass social skills, sharing, interacting with friends, and overall physical activity. She has also been the district athletic director, coach of multiple sports, instructional leader, and adaptive physical education teacher for our students with disabilities. It is with great pleasure we showcase Ms. Tamara Rea as our Outstanding Educator this week. It is teachers like Ms. Rea who let our students know how special each and every one of them are, each and every day.
