WESTFIELD — On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria:

1. Follows Westfield’s Rules of Respect for staff and peers

2. Shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects

3. Prepared daily to participate in all classes

4. Serves as a positive role model for peers

5. Demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship

Three students were selected as Students of the Month for the month of December:

Grace Nolan was selected as Student of the Month for 6th grade. Grace’s favorite class is math. Outside of school, Grace takes dance lessons and likes learning new things and techniques in dance. In the future, she would like to become a stronger student in science and continue to improve at dance.

At the 7th grade level, Hannah Tenamore was named, “Student of the Month.” Hannah’s favorite classes are ELA and band. She likes reading and writing, and also likes playing in concerts. When not in school, Hannah participates in soccer, and is also a fan of the Orlando Pride womens soccer team. In the future, Hannah would like to make “high honor roll” every quarter, go to the All County Band competition, continue to play soccer, and attend college.

Makartnee Mortimer was the 8th grade Student of the Month for December. Makartnee loves algebra because she finds math fun, and enjoys the teacher. Outside of school, she likes to be active, run and participates in as many fun things as she can. In the future, she hopes to become a teacher and coach a soccer team at her school.
