Silver Creek Central School District had a great day at the annual STEM Wars on the campus of Jamestown Community College on March 14. More than 950 students from 23 area schools participated in this daylong exploration of all things science, math, engineering and technology.

Savannah Dawley’s high school graphic design was chosen overall for this year’s Student T-Shirt Design Competition. More than 1,000 students and teachers wore her T-shirt design this year. Joe Bowers won 2nd place in the high school Pinewood Derby Vehicles competition. Garrett Castle and Kris Herrmann competed in the first 3-D printed Gravity Car competition.

Katie Gard won 1st place in the middle school Mousetrap Vehicles competition and Emily Bowers won 4th place. Rebecca DeYoung won the Craftsmanship Award for the middle school Bridge Design competition.
