On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria:

1. Follows Westfield’s Rules of Respect for staff and peers. 2. Shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects. 3. Prepared daily to participate in all classes. 4. Serves as a positive role model for peers. 5. Demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship.

Three students were selected as a Student of the Month for the month of February:

In 6th grade, Daniel Bratton was chosen to be Student of the Month. Daniel enjoys PE and social studies the most because he likes playing games and learning about history. Daniel plays baseball and likes fishing. In the future, he hopes to play professional baseball. As a backup plan, he would like to attend a good college and become a coach or PE teacher.

The 7th grade Student of the Month for February was Mihir Patel. Mihir likes math, PE, and technology classes the best. He likes building and creating things and working with numbers. He loves watching and playing soccer outside of school. His favorite pro soccer team is FC Barcelona. In the future, Mihir would like to be in the top three of his class, attend a good engineering school like MIT, and have a career designing and creating things.

Jessica Navarro was the 8th grade Student of the Month. Jessica’s favorite class is science. She likes learning about our planet and solar system. One of the things she enjoys as an extracurricular activity is playing basketball, and in the future, Jessica would like to become an architectural engineer.
