On June 3, Fredonia Memorial American Legion Post 59 presented a scholarship to an outstanding student to further his or her education.

Commander Walter Sedlmayer presented Dyresse Batten, a senior at Fredonia High School, a $1,000 scholarship to help him achieve his goal.

Dyresse is interested in aviation and intends to become involved in the US Air Force ROTC program. He was highly qualified in meeting the standards to win this award. Congratulations and best wishes from Fredonia Memorial American Legion Post 59!
