JCC announces College Connections honors

Jamestown Community College recently honored 72 area high school students from throughout southwestern New York as the 2019-20 students of the year in the College Connections program.

In selecting the students of the year, schools were asked to consider College Connections participants who had embraced the challenges of completing college level work while in high school and demonstrated resourcefulness, integrity, and dedication.

College Connections, JCC’s concurrent enrollment program with regional high schools, is accredited by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships.

Local recipients included:

Brocton Central School: junior Heather Johnston and senior Laura Johnston;

Cassadaga Valley Central School: junior Marie Lemay and senior Meghan LeBaron;

Chautauqua Lake Central School: junior Amelia Brown and senior Sophia Woodis;

Dunkirk High School: junior Mia Rose Piede and senior Erica Rojas;

Forestville Central School: junior Ashley Gilman and senior Nathaniel Bock;

Fredonia Central School: junior Dominic Gullo and senior Marah Elizabeth Long;

Gowanda Central School: junior Kayla Forthman and senior Christian Cook;

P-TECH Academy: junior Iann Ramirez and senior Chelton Bellinger;

Silver Creek Central School: junior Joseph S. Bowers and senior Sameli Avila;

Westfield Academy & Central School: junior Emma Heim and senior Dhananjay Minesh Patel.
