Professor Ron Sievert and Marcia (Gibbs) Sievert are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary. They were married November 23rd, 1968 at St. Mary’s Church in Dunkirk, NY.

Marcia, a graduate of SUNY at Brockport, worked at the University of Texas, the Texas Department of Health and Human Services and in various administrative capacities for the state of Texas. She is happily retired.

After graduating from St. Bonaventure University, Ron was commissioned as an Officer in the U.S. Army and then attended the University of Texas School of Law. He has served as supervisory trial attorney, Division Chief and National Security Coordinator for the Department of Justice in Texas and Washington, D.C. Ron now teaches at the Bush School of Government and the University of Texas School of Law.

Ron and Marcia have enjoyed traveling all over the world and celebrated this special occasion on a Carribean cruise with their children Tera Sievert Deal and husband Mike Deal, Jessica Sievert Navarro and husband Trinidad Navarro, and Dr. Rachel Sievert; grandchildren Katherine and Scott Deal and Liliana and Trinidad Navarro; Ron’s mother Sara Sievert; brother Guy Sievert; as well as other close family and friends.
