Lou and Carmen Vega are celebrating 50 years of wedded bliss today, Sept. 19, 2020. Lifelong residents of Dunkirk, they are the proud parents of a retired U.S. Marine, Tony of Indiana; a teacher, Rosie of Dunkirk; and a NICU nurse, Lydia Marie Becker of the Bronx. They have nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter (and she’s pretty great!). Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, a celebration Mass and long-overdue family vacation will be held at a later date.
