Fred and Rosemary Civilette Piede renewed their 50th wedding vows at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Dunkirk, on their actual anniversary date of Oct. 3 at the 4 p.m. Mass with the Rev. Daniel Walsh officiating. They were originally married at St. Anthony’s church in Fredonia on October 3, 1970, with the Rev. Thomas Carlisomo officiating. A reception followed at the Elk’s Club in Dunkirk.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, a private family celebration was held after Mass at the home of their daughter and son-in-law’s home, Mario and Michelle Muscarella in Fredonia, along with their immediate family: Christopher and Tonia Piede, Fred and Amy Piede with their nine grandchildren: Mia, Angelina, Anthony, Isabella, Rebecca and TJ Piede, and Rocco, Giavanna and Bruno Muscarella.

Mr. Piede is retired from Dunkirk Specialty Steel as the general maintenance supervisor and Mrs. Piede is retired from Brooks Memorial Hospital as the nutritional office coordinator.
