Daniel and Sharon Barlette of Dunkirk will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 26.

They were married at Holy Trinity Church on June 26, 1971, with a reception following at the East Town of Dunkirk fire hall. After their honeymoon in Niagara Falls, they returned to their home on Lord Street in Dunkirk, where they still reside today.

Daniel, a proud U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, retired from the Dunkirk Public School System after working at True Temper, Alumax Extrusions, and Cliffstar Corp. Sharon was employed by the Dunkirk Public School System, as well as M. Wile, and Fredonia Seed Co. They raised three sons, Daniel Jr. (Middlesex, N.J.), Timothy (Clearwater, Fla.), and John (Falls Church, Va.) and later welcomed daughters-in-law Kristin (married to Dan Jr.) and Cindy (married to Timothy). They are adored by their three grandsons, Thomas and Michael (Clearwater, Fla.,) and Jackson (Middlesex, N.J.).

Both are active members of their church community and rejoice in serving others. They enjoy spending time with family and friends, especially extended visits with their children and grandchildren in Dunkirk each summer.
