Mr. and Mrs. Robert Penkaty
Robert and Marian Penkaty met in Silver Creek where a young, Navy sailor caught Marian’s eye. She said, “He wasn’t cocky like the rest of his friends he was with.” Not long after that, he left the Navy to settle down and be with her. They were married on Jan. 20, 1962, at St. Hyacinth’s in the city of Dunkirk and bought a house shortly after in the same city where they still live today.
Robert went to work at the Ford Stamping plant. He retired after 30 years working there in 1994. Marian went to work at Red Wing in 1961.
She took a small leave to raise her two children, Kathryn and Jerry, and then went back to work there until 1995 when she retired. They are well known in the community. Robert was a volunteer firefighter for the Hose Co. 4 and the couple helped host a Christmas party every year for the station.
Today their family has grown. They have two grandchildren, Elisha and Robert ,one great-grandchild,Grayson and another one on the way.
