Sinclairville History Fair
7 a.m. until fireworks at 9 p.m. At the firehall: Pancake breakfast beginning at 7 a.m.; chicken barbecue at 11:30 a.m.; sloppy Joes at 3 p.m. The grand parade begins at 10 a.m. on Main Street. Custom car, tractor and motorcycle cruise-in at 11 a.m. Food stands, craft show, music in the park, tours, free buggy rides, museum open all day. Baby contest, fruit pie contest, dog show. Karaoke contest 3 to 5 p.m., cash prizes, no entry fee. Limit of 20 contestants, first come, first serve. Pickleball contest and cornhole contest in the ballpark beginning at noon. Entry fee $30 per couple. Street dance 5 to 9 p.m. Free events and parking.
Fredonia Farmers Market
The Fredonia Farmers’ Market is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday mid-May through October on Church Street, downtown Fredonia. It features a variety of vendors, with special events TBA. A number of vendors accept EBT, NYS Farmers Market Nutrition checks and WIC vegetables and fruits checks.
Westfield Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market
Moore Park, center of Westfield, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Locally grown produce, meats, baked goods, food products, craft items and more. Prepared foods suitable for breakfast and lunch and hot and cold beverages are also available. The Westfield Flea, an antiques and vintage market, is on the other side of the park. Abraham Lincoln (Ron Carley) and Mary Todd Lincoln (Tina Carley) will tour the Market, flea market, local downtown shops, ride on the horse-drawn carriage and visit children at the Patterson Library’s story hour. Lincoln will vist tropps at the 9th NY Calvary’s Civil War reenactment/encampment in Moore Park and visit the special Grace Bedell family exhibit at Lake Shore Center for the Arts.
Pillar of Fire Fellowship indoor yard sale
221 Lake Shore Drive West, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Also a basket raffle. All proceeds benefit the Buffalo/Niagara Honor Flight.
AHN Westfield Memorial Hospital community walk
Event begins and ends at AHN Westfield Memorial Hospital, 9 a.m. to noon. Walk begins at 10 a.m. Complimentary healthy snacks provided to walkers and all guests. Free health screenings, COVID-19 vaccines available. Magician, balloon animals, healthy cooking demonstration with recipes, take photos with an ambulance and a fire truck. Lakeshore Humane Society Saturday open adoption hours
The Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, will hold open adoption hours from noon to 3 p.m. The public is welcome to see the dogs and cats in need of loving homes. Tours of the facility will not be given. Individual appointments are available throughout the week by leaving a message at 716 672-1991; press “1” for dogs or “2” for cats.
