Audubon Community Nature Center Last Day Hike with an Audubon educator.

1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown, 10:30 a.m. to noon. Free for all. Reservations appreciated, walk-ins welcome as space allows. Dress for hike in outdoor weather. Children are welcome but must be able to hike on snowy trails for at least half a mile. After the hike, warm up with a cup of hot chocolate.

Chautauqua Rails to Trails remembrance event

Intersection of Prospect Station Road and Fish/Barnes Road, (parking lot GPS 7000 Fish Road), Walk ¼ mile to the site of the 1872 Christmas Eve train crash site. Remembrance ceremony will include remarks by CRT President Emeritus Jim Fincher who will relate the story of the tragedy and an original commemorative song co-written and performed by current President Bill Ward. Live at the Met presents: Giordano’s “Fedora”

1891 Fredonia Opera House, 1 p.m. Tickets are $20 for general admission, $18 Opera House members, $10 students. The opera is sung in Italian with English subtitles.

Trinity United Church of Christ free community meal

The Trinity United Church, located at Erie Avenue and Park Street, Gowanda, will host a take-out only free community meal at the Park Street entrance from 4 to 6 p.m. or until gone. The menu is scalloped potatoes and ham, vegetable, bread and cookies. Free will donations are appreciated but not necessary. Drive East Main to Railroad Avenue and then down Park Street, following the signs, or walk up.
