Fredonia Farmers’ Market

The Fredonia Farmers’ Market is held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday from November through mid-May at the Masonic Lodge, 321 E. Main St., Fredonia. It features a variety of food vendors, artisan crafts and prepared foods for sale. The market welcomes cash, credit cards, SNAP benefits and is handicapped accessible.

Lakeshore Humane Society Saturday “Souper Bowl Saturday” pet adoption day

The Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, will hold open a special “Souper Bowl” adoption day from noon to 3 p.m. A variety of homemade soups will be available for purchase. For $20, guests can have their soup and take home a beautiful soup bowl with the LHS logo hand-crafted by local artisan Lisa Eppolito. There will also be bread, beverage and dessert. Lunch without the artisanal bowl is available for $15. The public is welcome to see the dogs and cats in need of loving homes. Tours of the facility will not be given. Individual appointments are available throughout the week by leaving a message at 716 672-1991; press “1” for dogs or “2” for cats. One must be 21 years of age or older to adopt a pet. The Trinity United Church, located at Erie Avenue and Park Street, Gowanda, will host a take-out only free community meal at the Park Street entrance from 4 to 6 p.m. or gone. The menu is homemade soup, salad, bread and cookies. Free will donations are appreciated but not necessary. Drive East Main to Railroad Avenue and then down Park Street, following the signs, or walk up.
