Fredonia Farmers’ Market

The Fredonia Farmers’ Market is held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday from November through mid-May at the Masonic Lodge, 321 E. Main St., Fredonia. It features a variety of food vendors, artisan crafts and prepared foods for sale. The market welcomes cash, credit cards, SNAP benefits and is handicapped accessible.

Fredonia Food Pantry

The Fredonia Food Pantry, Fredonia Presbyterian Church, 219 Central Ave., Fredonia, will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. The pantry serves the needs of Fredonia area code 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan and Laona. All guests receive one or more bags of non-perishable food. Number of bags received depends on family size.

Turn the River

Green event

Downtown Jamestown, Chadakoin River. Irish music, children’s activities, booths/exhibits from 10 a.m. to noon. Also a scavenger hunt. At 11 a.m., a lucky leprechaun will turn the river green in an official ceremony.

Lakeshore Humane Society Saturday open adoption hours

The Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, will hold open adoption hours from noon to 3 p.m. The public is welcome to see the dogs and cats in need of loving homes. Tours of the facility will not be given. Individual appointments are available throughout the week by leaving a message at 716 672-1991; press “1” for dogs or “2” for cats. One must be 21 years of age or older to adopt a pet. The Cat’s Meow Boutique will be open for purchases by the public. For details, call 716 672-1991.

Live at the Met presents: Wagner’s “Lohengrin”

The event takes place at the Lodge, 321 E. Adults and teenagers 13 and up are $10, Children 5 to 12 are $6 with those under 5, free. Open to the public.
