Fredonia Food Pantry

The Fredonia Food Pantry, Fredonia Presbyterian Church, 219 Central Ave., Fredonia, will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. The pantry serves the needs of Fredonia area code 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan and Laona. All guests receive one or more bags of non-perishable food. Number of bags received depends on family size.

Fredonia Farmers’ Market

The Fredonia Farmers’ Market is held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday from November through mid-May at the Masonic Lodge, 321 E. Main St., Fredonia. It features a variety of food vendors, artisan crafts and prepared foods for sale. The market welcomes cash, credit cards, SNAP benefits and is handicapped accessible.

Lakeshore Humane Society Saturday open adoption hours

The Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, will hold open adoption hours from noon to 3 p.m. The public is welcome to see the dogs and cats in need of loving homes. Tours of the facility will not be given. Individual appointments are available throughout the week by leaving a message at 716 672-1991; press “1” for dogs or “2” for cats. Dunkirk Historical Society’s “Taste of Prohibition II”

Dunkirk Historical Museum, 524 Washington Ave. Museum open 4 to 6 p.m. At 5 p.m., 24 ticket holders (cost $50 each) will taste 1 ™ shot of “medicinal” whiskey from bottles distilled in 1916 and 1917. There will also be a silent auction for a 32 ounce bottle of Stagg 100 proof whiskey distilled in 1917. All participants must be at least 21. Non-drinking guests may attend for free.
