Fredonia Literary Festival

SUNY Fredonia, Williams Center. Local author Rebecca Cuthbert will participate in a vendor table and reading at 10 a.m. Book fair in the Multipurpose Room begins at 10. Guests, memorial readings in the adjacent Blue Lounge at 4 p.m. Poetry readings begin at 6 p.m. in the Blue Lounge. Free, open to the public.

Fredonia Farmers’ Market

The Fredonia Farmers’ Market is held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday from November through mid-May at the Masonic Lodge, 321 E. Main St., Fredonia. It features a variety of food vendors, artisan crafts and prepared foods for sale. The market welcomes cash, credit cards, SNAP benefits and is handicapped accessible.

Villenova Cemetery cleanup

Cemetery Road, South Dayton, 10 a.m. Volunteers needed to help clear tree branches and rake and clear winter debris. Bring own rakes, tools, gloves, water and Super Duper donuts will be provided.

Lakeshore Humane Society Saturday open adoption hours

The Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, will hold open adoption hours from noon to 3 p.m. The public is welcome to see the dogs and cats in need of loving homes. Tours of the facility will not be given. Individual appointments are available throughout the week by leaving a message at 716 672-1991; press “1” for dogs or “2” for cats. One must be 21 years of age or older to adopt a pet. The Cat’s Meow Boutique will be open for purchases by the public. For details, call 716 672-1991.
