The Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, will hold open adoption hours from noon to 3 p.m. The public is welcome to see the dogs and cats in need of loving homes. Dunkirk Lighthouse annual Memorial Day Service

1 Lighthouse Point Drive, Dunkirk, 8:30 a.m. Event is co-sponsored by the Dunkirk Historical Lighthouse and Veterans Park Museum and the Knights of Columbus. The flags will be flown in memory of Jim Arnold, retired Air Force, volunteer guide at the Lighthouse and grandson to Lighthouse Keeper Francis Arnold. Public is invited to attend.

Sinclairville 99th annual Memorial Day Parade and service

Parade begins at 9 a.m., marchers to meet at the post office by 8:30 a.m. Memorial service in Evergreen Cemetery after the parade.

Jamestown Memorial Day parade

10 a.m. The Blue Star Mothers will oversee the Memorial Service at Lakeview Cemetery.
