Garden club cleans up monument
Armed with shovels, rakes and pruners, members of the Chadwick Bay Garden Club attacked the overgrown and neglected flower bed surrounding the stone monument at Houghton Park in Fredonia. The area, along with the urn in the center, is now ready to be planted with summer annuals, donated by anonymous donors. The May meeting was held at the home of Barbara Joy, and future plans were discussed. Club members were scheduled to plant at the Dunkirk Lighthouse on Tuesday with flowers purchased with the proceeds from their annual Christmas Wreath sale.
