Homegrown NY Times bestselling author coming to town for event

Chautauqua Striders, a county-wide youth advocacy agency, will host “Wine Between the Lines,” on Saturday from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at the Alumni House at SUNY Fredonia. New York Times Bestselling Author Wendy Corsi Staub is the keynote speaker for this literary and wine event.

Corsi Staub is an alumnus of both Dunkirk High School and SUNY Fredonia and is the award-winning author of more than 80 novels in a career that has spanned more than two decades. Corsi Staub’s psychological suspense novels have become New York Times Bestsellers.

Under the pseudonym Wendy Markham, her novels and women’s fiction books have frequently appeared on the USA Today, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Bookscan bestseller lists.

A vocal and active supporter of Relay for Life, Support Connection, and the American Cancer Society, Corsi Staub was the 2012 Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month national spokesperson for the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation. She is an avid animal rights advocate and fosters rescue animals from various shelters.

Corsi Staub, along with award-winning upstate author and speaker Sean Kirst, and author, speaker, and leadership development coach Tom Crea, will be signing books, speaking, engaging in conversation with attendees, and enjoying well-awarded wines from 21 Brix Winery.

Kirst is also a SUNY Fredonia alumnus and graduated from Cardinal Mindszenty High School. Prior to becoming a columnist for the Syracuse-Post Standard, Kirst worked at the Evening OBSERVER in Dunkirk. He has been a TED Talks presenter, and freelance writer for the Buffalo News. Kirst was awarded the prestigious Ernie Pile Award for best human interest writing by the Scripps Howard Foundation. An avid promoter of Western New York, particularly Chautauqua County and the Dunkirk-Fredonia area, Kirst is lending his support to Striders’ academic programming in Dunkirk.

Local native Thomas Crea, also a graduate of Cardinal Mindszenty High School and a leadership development coach, has recently published his first book, “Unleash Your Values: How to Lead and Succeed in Business Today.” A career U.S. Army man, Crea’s frontline and in-the-trenches experience enables him to keep audiences on the edge of their seats while they learn to apply simple ways to inspire others in the workplace.

Free wine samples, cash bar, book sale, basket raffle and hors d’oeuvres are included in the ticketed admission of $30 per person. Chautauqua Striders specializes in track and field, mentoring, tutoring, lifeskills education, and STEAM programming. All proceeds benefit Striders’ Dunkirk Academics.
