The Nathan George Foundation, Inc. would like to congratulate the winners of the 2016 Nathan George Memorial Scholarships. Winners are selected based on sports participation, essay and academic criteria, recommendations as well as community involvement.

The 2016 scholarship recipients are:

Ashleigh Hobbs is a graduate of the Fredonia High School Class of 2016. Ashleigh is the daughter of David and Eleanor Hobbs.

Jarod Burmaster is a graduate of the Fredonia High School Class of 2016. Jarod is the son of Bryan and Andrea Burmaster and brother of Zach Burmaster, grandson of Stan and Mary Laskoski of Niagara Falls and Donald and Carol Burmaster of Ransomville, N.Y.

Quinn Bankoski is graduate of the Dunkirk High School Class of 2016. Quinn is the daughter of Robert and Tammy Bankoski and the granddaughter of Al and Sadie Kwiej, Dolly Bankoski and the late Robert J. Bankoski.

The Nathan George Foundation, Inc. was established to honor the memory of Nathan George, a 2000 graduate of Fredonia High School. The Foundation awards annual scholarships to local high school athletes and supports youth sports programs within Northern Chautauqua County.
