Lake Erie Bird Club meets Monday

The Lake Erie Bird Club will meet Monday, October 24 at 7 p.m. at BOCES on Fredonia-Stockton Road in Fredonia.

Tim Baird from Salamanca will present the program entitled, “Odds and Ends: Photos of Birds and Stuff.” He will provide photos and commentary on general nature subjects. Audience questions and in-put will be encouraged.

All are welcome to attend this delightful program by an excellent speaker.

Thirty-three members and guests attended the September meeting of the Bird Club conducted by John Ruska. Members shared recent bird sightings with reports of bald eagles, ruby-throated hummingbirds, shorebirds, great blue herons, green herons and belted kingfishers.

David and Lucy Bryant enjoyed watching a young turkey vulture in their yard. Members also enjoyed the May bird walk at Greystone Nature Preserve.

Terry Mosher reported on a recent boat trip taken by him and Judy through the Alaska inside passage with sightings of many wonderful birds.

Club member Peg Kelwaski presented the program for the evening. She and her husband traveled to Arizona where they observed and photographed a great variety of birds.

Janet Centner and Joanne Goetz provided refreshments for the meeting.
