Comedy performance Tuesday at Barker Library

On Tuesday, the Darwin Barker Library, 7 Day St. in Fredonia, presents an evening of classic comic skits in its monthly series of “Nights with Jerry.”

In earlier programs, retired sociology professor Jerry Rose and his friends have taken us from the warm and fuzzy childhood pleasures of Winnie the Pooh to the gloomy terrors of Edgar Allan Poe — and the same acting ensemble brings to the library a hilarious laugh-in show featuring the confusion of Abbott and Costello about who’s on first — Lucille Ball’s intoxication as she makes a vitamin commercial — and some of the funniest material created by dry-humored Johnny Carson and the ever-disrespected Rodney Dangerfield.

It’s at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the Steele Room at the library. It’s free and open to the public. Local people have a choice for this evening. They can stay home and brood on their own frustrations or they can get to the library and get a good laugh by observing other people’s  frustrations.

For more information about the show, call the library at 672-8051, or Jerry at 352-514-0363.
